After a sold-out run earlier this year, Haddonfield Plays & Players is pleased to announce "Love, Loss, and What I Wore" will be back by popular demand on September 13, 14, and 15 with a charity spotlight on Threads for Success.
"Love, Loss, and What I Wore" is an intimate collection of stories by superstar sisters, Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, Heartburn) and Delia Ephron (You’ve Got Mail, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), and based on the best-selling book. The show uses clothing, accessories, and the memories they trigger to tell funny, startling, and poignant stories that every woman can relate to. The actresses of all ages sit side-by-side with script in-hand, deftly guiding the audience through an evening of humor, nostalgia and, of course, fashion.
"It is a show about women and I really loved that it is a project that all women can relate to," said the show's director, Tami Gordon Brody. "Although we do not want to be defined by the clothing we wear, clothes are the tapestry of life and part of life that only a woman can experience."
With an eye toward the show's message about the meaning of clothes, the production will be shining a light on Threads for Success, a nonprofit located in Camden County. Threads for Success provides resources for women and individuals looking to get back into the workforce–or who that just need a helping hand–by collecting and distributing gently used clothing, including all types of work wear, jackets, hats, gloves, and body warmers for the cold winter months.
"It takes many threads woven together to create the safety net everyone deserves and we hope to help people repair or create new threads in their lives so they can find their own success in life," said Threads for Success founder Beth Powell in the group's mission statement.
Tickets are now on sale for this event at www.haddonfieldplayers.com.
Show Dates September 13, 14, 15 at 8:00pm Complimentary wine will be served to audience members 21 or older.
