wHAT IS onSTAGE AT HADDONFIELD PLAYS & PLAYERS
Our philosophy is that theater education is more than just learning about theater. We are not building stars - we are building confident children. We strive to make sure they understand that the part they receive in a show is not the making of a great performer. We want them to appreciate all parts in a production. Each role is important, no matter how big or small.
Another thing we strive to do in all our sessions is to not only teach the students about the various aspects of theater, but also encourage them to apply what they have learned in performance. What results is a confident and strong performer, who has had a ton of theatrical fun along the way.
OnStage has four different programs to accomodate performers of all ages, providing Winter, Summer, and Fall sessions of programming throughout the year. In all of our sessions, every performer will receive a well-rounded education of techniques for auditioning, musical theater, character development, basic stagecraft, dance, and more. This rewarding rehearsal process culminates in a fabulous show at the end of the session!
At OnStage, we help create active stage presence by:
Speech: Articulation and projection
Dance Technique training
Using Emotional Memory as a tool
Taking creative risks
Examining Character Motivation
Using Stage Direction and Blocking
Enhancing the connection to the body
Vocal Technique: Ear Training and expanding vocal range
LEARN MORE ABOUT EACH OF OUR ONSTAGE PROGRAMS below:
stage teenies learn the fundamentals of storytelling and work together as a team to put on their very own show.
STAGE MINIS learn about auditioning, vocal technique, dance movement and character development with the help of a Director, Choreographer, and Vocal Director to produce a 30-minute production.
STAGE KIDZ expand on the fundamental skills of auditioning, voice, dance, and character development, working with a Director, Choreographer and Vocal Director to produce a one-hour production.
STAGE PLAYERS sharpen their creative skill set and prepare for auditions at the collegiate and professional level, participating in full-length musical theater productions and going beyond their fundamental theatrical skills as they work with a Director, Choreographer, and Vocal Director to rehearse and develop a show that is both challenging and more appropriate for an older age group.
